Potluck on Wednesday, Oct 17

The kiva.org‘s first potluck dinner meeting is at 6:30pm this upcoming Wednesday (10/17) in Immanuel Parlor. Don’t forget the $20 seed money!
As for the meeting itself, we will begin with the meal. I will provide ‘snapshot sheets’ with a couple of people from different areas around the world who are seeking funds through kiva.org. We can talk about them and decide on a few. I think one person from each of 2-3 regions of the world will be sufficient to get us started. Once those people have repaid us, then we can decide on new people. After that is settled, I will host a mission-related interactive presentation/discussion. Then we will conclude with a devotional in the chapel.
The meeting should last about an hour and a half. It will be fun- if it feels like a committee meeting, then we’ve done something wrong!

The Mission and Evangelism Team is starting a new initiative with an international flair.

We will be learning about Presbyterian missionary activity around the world and how we can help people in need in those countries though micro lending. We will have an informational session in the library after worship on October 7th.

So, fix your Coffee Mingle plate and come on into the library to learn more about this exciting new endeavor. If you want more information beforehand, please email rt66missions@gmail.com or call the church office, 265-7628,  and leave a message for Allen Buice.
